[Updated] Upcoming series info! & Suwama to undergo surgery! by Irving - 07/01/08 12:43 pm
PWF Chairman, Hiroshi Hase, announced one big match to his self-produced show which will close All Japan's "2008 SUMMER ACTION SERIES" this year. It will be Taiyo Kea & Minoru Suzuki's first defense of their newly won Tag Titles against Triple Crown champion, Suwama, and Osamu Nishimura! The show will be used to raise funds for the Iwate earthquake with Muto saying that an encouraging dream would be given through pro-wrestling on 8/3. Muto said that Suwama and Nishimura have gained a mutual respect for eachother post-6/28, but wanted to see just how much respect they will have, since Suwama will now have the opportunity to become a 5-Crown champion. Hase said that since the World Tag scene was digressing in some places, he wanted to put the match on a big stage in order to help revive what was once a booming field in pro-wrestling. Hase then finished by saying that he wanted everyone to come see hot fighting, and would be looking on feverishly to see if Suwama would be able to gain the 5-Crown achievement.

The Junior Singles League will also take place during the "SUMMER ACTION SERIES". The league will be two blocks and will hold traditional league rules (30 minute time limits, same point system as always). No participants were released today, but should be coming within the next few days. The league will start on 7/20 and end on 8/3 in Ishikawa.

Suwama will undergo a cartilage removal operation on his right elbow tomorrow in Fujisawa City. After the Izumo show on 6/29, Suwama returned to the All Japan dojo saying that the pain he was experiencing was uncanny, as his arm has been bothering him since his match with Tanahashi in the Champion Carnival Finals on 4/9, with his match against Kensuke Sasaki on 4/29 only worsening the arm. The injury was diagnosed and Suwama had to inject anodyne before his first defense against Nishimura on 6/28. He will have surgery tomorrow and will need about one week off, however, Suwama plans on carrying out forcible participation for All Japan's 7/7 Hachioji rally, saying that he wanted to show a pro-wrestler's fine figure.

    6/28 Results by Irving - 06/28/08 10:59 am
Some quick notes out of today's show. After the Junior Title match, the Tokyo Gurentai attacked Ryuji Hijikata, with the other juniors coming out and fending them off. It was decided that there would be another Junior Singles League this year, happening on the next series. Both the semi-main and main event were actually called "wonderful" matches, with the rumor being that Suwama will make his second defense in Sumo Hall, against Toshiaki Kawada!

News and notes by Irving - 06/11/08 8:44 am
Satoshi Kojima is covering this week's "Weekly Pro" magazine where he shed some light on his current injury. Kojima stated that this is the first time that he's ever had to consider retirement and released no date for an eventual return. The six page interview is very extensive as he even talks about his feelings on turning heel and joining the Voodoo Murders.

Keiji Muto met with The Great Sasuke today for another edition of the "KEIJI MUTO*SHOW". Sasuke and Muto discussed matches from Sasuke's past, such as the infamous tope incident that happened back in August of 1996, and his deathmatch with Atsushi Onita back in 2003. Sasuke then touched on how he was brought into All Japan for their 2003 Zepp tour, and hadn't been back since, saying that he always wanted to "go up to the All Japan ring". Sasuke then began passionately petitioning for a return to All Japan, with Muto suggesting a hair vs. mask encounter between Kaz Hayashi and Sasuke for the big Sumo Hall show! Muto stated that he wanted for All Japan to capture what the Iwate Prefectural could not, and that was the mask of Sasuke. Sasuke seemed game, stating that his mask was apart of him, and that he could never lose it. Will we be seeing Michinoku Pro masked man in All Japan rings soon?

Suwama in deep concentration! by Irving - 06/10/08 10:42 am
Suwama was caught practicing some spiritual enlightenment during his muga-style practice. Suwama said the experience was so profound that he might bring a new move to the table during his match on 6/10 in Korakuen. Suwama also admitted to have secretly been submerged in the stylings of muga, watching Osamu Nishimura's DVD and catching various matches through the past of muga, and has given up his bad eating habits, trading in overeating and overdrinking for boiled rice, miso soup, and pickles. All this in preparation of his first defense of his newly won Triple Crown, which will take place on 6/28 against the ambassador of muga, Osamu Nishimura. Suwama said that he would continue to apply the lifestyle towards his own style as he has become even more invigorated and is looking forward to his upcoming contests to show the new side of himself.
